Ground Investigation & In-Situ Testing

Ground Investigation & In-Situ TestingDST engineers and drilling crews have comprehensive knowledge and significant experience in ground investigations.  We own a fleet of various types of drill rigs (CME 750, CME 55, CME 45 etc.), accessories and specialized in-situ testing equipment, such as a Cone Penetrometer with pore pressure and seismic measurements, Dilatometer, etc. and DST professionals are trained to interpret specialized in-situ testing.  Our engineers apply advanced technology to determine the geotechnical parameters of soils and rocks.

DST specialists have carried out ground investigation projects for various types of developments such as highways and railways, ports and airports, mine developments, schools, commercial and housing developments.

It is our speciality to carry out, process, and interpret the following non-intrusive and intrusive ground investigations.

Non-Intrusive Investigation

  • Geophysical Survey
  • Walkover, drive over and fly over survey
  • Geological and outcrop mapping

Intrusive Investigation

  • Test pitting
  • Geotechnical Drilling
  • Bedrock coring and logging
  • Disturbed and undisturbed sampling
  • Sampling using piston sampler
  • Groundwater sampling
  • Asphalt coring
  • Concrete coring
  • In-situ testing
    • Standard Penetration Test (SPT)
    • Field Vane Shear Test (FVT)
    • Dynamic Cone Testing (DCT)
    • Cone Penetrometer Testing with pore pressure measurement (CPTU)
    • Dilatometer Testing (DMT)
    • Field Falling head and Constant head hydraulic conductivity test
    • Slug Test
    • Aquifer Tests
    • Well Test
    • Packer Test
    • Plate Load Test
    • Static Pile Load Test
    • Field CBR Test
