GIS & Cartography Services

Site RemediationDST provides Geographic Information System (GIS) and Cartography Services to support environmental and geotechnical projects. The GIS section provides a variety of services including Project Location, Site Plan, Excavation Limits and Conceptual Site Models using standard Cartography practices. The GIS cartography and data processing is primarily completed using the ESRI Suite of products and figure creation with the use of AutoCAD. The figures that are created using AutoCAD are typically designated as Engineering Drawings. The engineering drawings are used for site plans, monitoring well and borehole plans, cross-section profiles of below ground soil composition, site infrastructure and specification for site construction. Other services provided are data manipulation, GPS Uploading and Downloading of data and Confirmatory Soil Sampling figures. The GIS section works with interior and exterior clients in the production of relevant figures as well as comprehensive data management to support projects completed by DST. In addition to the above services the GIS Department will work in the field in order to gather data for processing and symbolizing on figures. The DST GIS section has worked with a variety of clients including private sector, institutional, and government clients and the many different sections within DST to produce viable data and figures. The GIS section utilizes gINT in the development of Borehole Logs for drilling programs used in the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites.
