Archaeology, Cultural & Natural Heritage

blstDST presents a unique blend of capabilities with widespread experience in effectively identifying the heritage needs in regards to government, mining, developers, and community groups. Natural heritage refers to features and areas such as: wetlands; coastal wetlands; fish habitat; woodlands; valley lands; habitat of endangered and threatened species; wildlife habitat; and areas of natural and scientific interest. DST uses sound scientific theories and methods to identify natural heritage systems. Reliable data analyzed by our experts and a thorough understanding of the planning area and ecological concepts contribute to a sound methodology for natural heritage system development. Archaeological assessment and investigations of cultural and heritage resources including traditional ecological knowledge are required for an Environmental Assessment. DST collaborates with archaeological and heritage resource specialists to ensure the completion of these studies in a timely manner and in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
