Mapping & GIS

Mapping and GISDST provides Mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Solutions for Mining Services. The GIS section provides a variety of Mapping and GIS Solutions across the country, including a variety of remote and northern regions. The GIS cartography and data processing is primarily completed using the ESRI Suite of products, but can complete figure creation with the use of AutoCAD. GIS staff has the experience and capability to use 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Geo-processing within the ESRI environment and Cartographic License to manage data and create relevant figures for mining programs or Environmental Assessment Programs. The GIS Department can also help in the development of Tailings Management Areas, Proposed Mine Infrastructure and the integration of AutoCAD data into a GIS environment in order to complete the data management and figure creation. Mapping for the mining programs can include surveys and sampling of birds, mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, plants, insects, and aquatic invertebrates. The GIS department can deliver complex processing results, multi-discipline figures, 3D Visualization, 2D plan views and figures at large scales or small scales depending on the data needed to be visualized.
