Services

This project was located in the mountains of Northwestern British Columbia, and involved the prefeasibility assessment of a massive open pit mine. Among the scope of work DST was responsible for the installation and monitoring of multilevel piezometer strings, and several inclinometers.

Our Role

DST carried out a prefeasibility geotechnical assessment of potential tailings disposal and waste disposal sites for the proposed on-site mill that will operate at 130,000 Tonnes per day for 30 years at the Schaft Creek site. Boreholes were drilled at the various dam sites through the overburden while carrying out standard penetrating testing, sampling, and geotechnical borehole logging. We also provided seismic assessments for several options of tailing and waste rock disposal.
