Held this year in our nation's capital, the GeoOttawa 2017 will be celebrating 70 years of Canadian Geotechnics and Geoscience and will highlight the many significant contributions made to Canada's built form by geotechnical and hydrogeological professionals.
The paper is titled "Comparative Study between Landfills in Canada and Bangladesh - a Case Study of Glenmore landfill, British Columbia, Canada and Khulna Pilot Scale Sanitary Landfill, Bangladesh" and examines how both landfills, one from a developed country and one from a developing country, can both successfully protect groundwater resources from a representative contaminant (engineered carbon nanoparticles), if properly designed and constructed in the proposed method.
DST is a long-standing Platinum sponsor of the annual CGS Geo conference. We support this event year after year because we recognize the significant role it plays in bringing industry professionals together to fuel thought, discussion, advancement, and innovation in the field of geotechnics and geoscience. As a firm that started off as a branch office of Dominion Soil Investigations, a geotechnical engineering firm, remaining up-to-date with research and technology is crucial for our business and our staff. We are extremely proud of Syed and to have one of our geotechnical staff contributing to the dialogue at this important event.
Congratulations to Syed, Shumsun, and Sumi for this tremendous accomplishment and for their continued advancement of geoscience research in Canada.
