DST's Sudbury Office attended the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Associates (OIAA) Provincial Conference on May 7th
held at Deehurst resort in the beautiful Muskokas. The theme of the event was “Hockey Night in Canada”. This year it was the Northern and Georgian Bay OIAA chapters that hosted the event.
The two day event started on Thursday night with a trade show. The trade show was a great success. It’s been reported that over 500 delegates from the insurance industry was present at the trade show. DST staff had the chance to meet potential new clients and re-kindle some preexisting relationships. At DST's trade show both, there were demonstrations using the ATP monitor. The ATP monitor was used to demonstrate DST's capability of providing on the spot, direct readings for displaying a post and pre-remediation cleaning efforts or to demonstrate conflict resolution between a remediation contractor and claim homeowner that undergone some sort of remediation efforts.
Friday was filled with seminars, luncheon with the entertaining Dennis Hull (retired NHL Chicago Hawks left winger and brother to NHLer Bobby Hull) and live demonstrations, such as a controlled car crash to demonstrate the possible damage claims in car accidents and a simulated burned apartment to demonstrate how fast a one unit apartment can be engulfed in flames without proper fires suppression devises and ones that are equipped.
Friday night was another great opportunity for DST delegates to mingle with potential clients during the Gala Dinner and Hospitality gathering.
