Englobe Corp. Makes $5000 Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Donation

Corporate responsibility is a top priority for Englobe and we make an effort to give back to the communities in which we operate.  One area that is of particular importance to us is investing in the future of engineering and this means supporting students.

As a way of continuing to support the next generation of engineers, Englobe donated $5000 in support of TAC’s Transportation and Civil Engineering (TRAC) Student Event.  The goal of the workshop is to encourage grade 11 and 12 students to consider a career in transportation and civil engineering by providing them with the opportunity to engage in specialized, mentor driven, learning.

TRAC student outreach programs are designed to provide teachers with curriculum enhancements which enable them to demonstrate engineering and transportation principles.  Although relatively new to Canada, the TRAC student event concept was developed by the American Association of State and Highway Transportation Officials and is currently implemented in 36 states.  The TAC has been working hard to coordinate TRAC events for Canadian students but have struggled due to lack of funding.

Through Englobe’s generous donation, TAC was able to bring the TRAC program to students enrolled in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Specialist High Skills Major program.  We are very proud to support local programming dedicated to fostering a passion for engineering, and to continue investing in the shared future of our industry and profession.

And, who knows, one (or more) of these bright young students just may be one of Englobe’s future best and brightest transportation engineers!

More information on the program can be found here.
