Consulting Services for Mining Clients

DST has been working in the mining industry for almost 40 years as engineers, scientists, and contractors.  These services are largely related to the earth: water, soil, rock and air; and are delivered through a diverse staff of over 100 technical professionals.

DST provides Qualified Persons competent under Canada’s National Instrument 43-101 for disclosing scientific and technical information pertaining to mineral resources.

DST and the Mining Cycle:  Exploration to Mine Closure

DST and the mining cycle for webWe initially become involved in the mining cycle during exploration. Typical services include permitting for simple water crossings or advanced exploration closure plans, as well as core logging for geotechnical purposes.

During mine development DST provides a wide range of specialized services from scoping studies through feasibility assessments. Examples are the various environmental studies during the permitting process, First Nations consultation, siting of infrastructure and facilities, planning of above ground works, design services for facilities such as open pits, waste rock and tailings disposal, and controls for ground and surface water.

DST also provides routine services for many mines during their operating life. Whether amending permits for changes due to expanded resources, implementing monitoring systems or developing solutions for waste or runoff issues our service capabilities can accommodate your project.

Rehabilitation and mine closure again benefit from DST services. Examples are waste cover design and construction, demolition of buildings and shaft capping.
