Englobe is looking for a Civil Engineering Lead, Municipal, to lead the municipal design group in Southern Ontario. With offices spanning the province, the Civil Engineering Lead, Municipal will partner with existing Senior Leaders from various departments to promote cross-group collaboration and service enhancement opportunities for a select client group.
 
 
The Civil Engineering Lead, Municipal, will champion acquiring and executing municipal engineering projects of varying sizes and complexity. The position will be client-focused and involve dealing with Contractors and Supplier relationships related to acquiring work, mentoring, supervising, and training junior staff.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Be solely responsible for business development activities to build pipeline and grow the municipal engineering team, contributing to and supported by the existing Englobe business development team.
  • Develop and achieve key performance indicators assigned to the department or project.
  • Develop and manage client relationships.
  • Prepare municipal engineering proposals or provide input on scope, budget, and schedule to the proposal team.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering, project management and administrative work performed in the department.
  • Assist in recruiting personnel.
  • Oversee development of staff competency in required areas.
  • Assign, coordinate, and review the technical work of the department or project teams.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the municipal infrastructure engineering team's activities and operations, including other duties required to ensure an effective operating team.
  • Ensure staff have the proper tools, plans, and equipment for a safe work environment.
  • Manage and participate directly in municipal civil projects such as feasibility studies, roadways, stormwater management plans, water and waste management systems.

Qualifications:
 
  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university; or another related discipline. 
  • 15 years of experience in civil, municipal engineering.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional land and site development projects is considered an asset. 
  • Extensive design experience, including design of water, sewer, stormwater management, lift stations, pump houses, is required.
  • Design experience in roads and land development and related infrastructure is an asset.
  • Professional registered with the PEO or eligible for immediate registration with Professional Engineers of Ontario Association.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce well-written reports and technical specifications.
  • Ability to plan, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Has experience leading, organizing, and supervising others.
  • Conduct business development, client relations, and proposal preparation activities. 
 
The successful incumbent will have the ability to work out of any of our designated head offices throughout Southern Ontario. Local, out of town and extended travel will be required for this position.
