We are currently seeking full-time Manager for our Government Client Group Team based out of our Mississauga, ON office.  

About the Job

The Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Mississauga ON Office.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist Regional Manager and Director with defining long-term organizational strategic goals;
  • Collaborate with peers and management across disciplines and business lines to successfully deliver projects in accordance with company quality standards;
  • Manage full spectrum of existing client relationships and deliverables;
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs;
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales;
  • Present to and consult with senior level management;
  • Use your knowledge of the market and competitors, to identify and develop unique selling propositions and differentiators;
  • Prospect for potential clients, initiating contact within regional market;
  • Develop network of clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging existing industry connections;
  • Identify decision makers within client organizations;
  • Call on clients, making presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict future needs;
  • Guide team members in developing proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives;
  • Attend industry functions, including association events and conferences to obtain and communicate information on innovative market trends;
  • Maintain records and submit weekly progress reports of business activities;
  • Ensure accurate data management within the company’s project management system;
  • Forecast sales targets and lead team in achieving goals;
  • Collaborate with marketing department to ensure prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner;
  • Deliver business development training and mentoring internally;
  • Research and develop thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities;
  • Support company’s mandate through a thorough understanding of goals to enhance company performance;
  • Travel locally, provincially or nationally to urban or remote areas for business, as required;
  • Maintain a commitment to exceeding client expectations by consistently delivering high quality of work;
  • Maintain professionalism and objectivity while working with colleagues and clients who require varying degrees of support;
  • Handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts; and
  • Conduct project administration tasks as required, including timesheet generation and project invoicing.

About You

  • You possess strong existing relationships with key decision makers at one or more of the following Key Clients; Public Works & Government Services Canada; CBRE; Defense Construction Canada / Department of National Defense; Canada Lands Company; and Infrastructure Ontario.
  • You bring a minimum of 10 years’ Management experience in a consulting environment;
  • You possess extensive experience writing proposals, specifications, case studies, technical and non-technical reports and a solid understanding of provincial and federal regulatory requirements acquired through experience and education;
  • You possess extensive experience with business development;
  • A proven ability to effectively manage a larger number of accounts and a robust business development pipeline;
  • A track record of success in a solution-oriented, professional services environment
  • You hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record; and
  • You are eligible to obtain Secret Level 2 government security clearance.

  • Refined financial literacy at project, business unit and corporate levels;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to scheduling changes and occasional overtime, evening or weekend work to meet our clients’ project needs;
  • You thrive in a busy workplace and can handle multiple projects and tasks and maintain focus to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Strong business development orientation with professional, courteous demeanor;
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team of professionals including attraction, retention and development of talent.
