We can assist the design team in several key areas including: We have extensive IAQ experience and highly specialized expertise related to the specification of appropriate materials, techniques, cleaning and maintenance products and protocols. Our team has published research and case studies on work relating to the emerging science of material emissions and has been involved with many specialized projects where indoor air quality and preservation of artifacts are critical issues. Sustainable Design Both public and private sector projects require significant attention to sustainable design. We have extensive experience in assisting architectural teams with sustainable design projects. We will review conceptual designs for sustainable opportunities relating to reduce energy, resource and water consumption, improved indoor air quality, and reduced emissions. We will analyze various protocols, assessment and design tools for appropriateness for this project including LEED, C2000, and BREEAM-Greenleaf.. Regulatory Compliance Many projects are subject to the various federal and provincial environmental and health and safety regulations. The firm has significant experience in assisting clients in achieving compliance under such regulations as the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the Ontario 3Rs regulations. As well, we can assist public sector clients in meeting the requirements of their departments’ Sustainable Development Strategy. Working closely with clients and project teams, we will outline requirements and prepare strategies to implement required actions necessary to meet or exceed compliance. Waste Management We are noted specialists in the development and application of waste reduction, recovery, reuse and recycling protocols particularly for the construction, renovation and demolition industries. Our consultants have done extensive research, development and application work, including specification writing, on occupancy waste systems, auditing, deconstruction, waste management and regulatory compliance. We will work with the team to identify opportunities to reduce the generation of waste on site, incorporate designing for disassembly principles and effectively incorporate occupancy waste issues into future designs.. |
