 Indoor Air Quality Minimize
Canadians generally spend over 90% of their time indoors.  Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) can affect our health, reduce our productivity, and impact building reputation. In industrial, commercial and institutional settings, providing a safe and comfortable workplace with good air quality is an employer’s responsibility dictated by provincial and federal occupational health and safety regulations.

DST conducts IAQ assessments for employers, building occupants, property managers, and building designers.  IAQ can become a concern if building mechanical systems are not operating properly; if hazardous materials are used in or near a workplace; or following an event affecting the integrity of a building, such as a flood or fire.  An IAQ assessment can also be performed to ensure buildings are being operated and maintained within the parameters of building management contracts.  DST works closely with clients to ensure each assessment program is tailored to suit the needs of the client.

Some examples of IAQ services offered by DST include:

•    Proactive baseline IAQ assessments (annual/bi-annual, etc.)
•    Occupational Exposure Assessments (required when certain hazardous materials are used in a workplace)
•    Evaluations in response to workers with environmental hypersensitivity
•    Emergency response
•    IAQ for meeting certification requirements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™
•    Information training sessions

Under the direction of our Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), DST is qualified to handle any IAQ concern, and can develop an Indoor Air Quality assessment to meet your unique needs.  Contact us to help improve the Indoor air Quality at your facility.
