The primary role for this position is to assist with the fieldwork component of petroleum related projects, with the opportunity to advance to a supervisory role.

Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will be a goal oriented individual who possesses: 
  • A certification with the TSSA as a Petroleum Mechanic (1, 2, 3 or 4) or helper (PMH); 
  • Minimum 2 years related experience; 
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable TSSA regulations; 
  • Willingness to travel; 
  • The ability to supervise staff and meet deadlines and objectives;

Senior Geo-Construction Engineer

  • Management Representative on the H&S Committee.

Qualifications: This is considered a management position within the firm, with the potential for fast track advancement to the position of Sector Manager, Construction Division. The ideal candidate will be a goal oriented individual who possesses:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and eligibility for registration with PEO;
  • Minimum 10 years related experience in geo-contracting, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role;
  • Excellent skills in business development, developing and maintaining client relationships, preparing proposals and reports;
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and objectives;
  • Expert knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects; and,
  • A demonstrated track record of completing projects on time and on budget.

Position Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor under the Geo-services Sector, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical support services, which will include the following tasks:

  • Inspection of commercial and residential construction projects;
  • Conducts and supervises laboratory testing for soils, granular materials, concrete, asphalt, aggregates and masonry;
  • Field testing and inspection for control of concrete, aggregates, granular materials and asphalt production;
  • Quality assurance/control testing for granular fills, asphalt, concrete products for construction of foundations, roads, parking lots, embankments, dams, industrial facilities, piling, roofing, spray on fire protection, etc;

Position Qualifications:

  • A college diploma or technical training, in civil engineering or related field.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office 2003 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Acrobat, Internet and Electronic Mail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A good understanding of the invoicing process.
  • Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Able to effectively problem-solve and quickly gain proficiency in new work tasks.
  • Able to handle multi-tasking and maintain focus in a busy work place.
  • Experience in an office and laboratory environment is an asset.
